Dear Cathy, Kim & the rest of the gang, We wanted to let you guys know that you're the best. We had a great time and we learned a lot. Everyone was a pleasure to be around. I've posted a bulletin on my myspace profile about us attending your school and recommended it to anyone in your area. We look forward to getting some miles under our wheels so we can attend your experienced riders course. It's amazing how much more you notice after having taken the course. On our way home, driving down I-10, a bike swooped in front of us (in the right lane) and rode on the right bumper of the car in front of him. When the onramp traffic wasn't allowing him to get over to the right more, he pulled around the left of the car, cut across in front of it and in front of the car on it's right & took the next offramp. We both just cringed. I've enclosed a couple of pictures of us on my bike (me from the side....Mike from the front). I guess you never REALLY realize how invisible you are until you take a picture in the dark. I will definitely be grabbing a florescent vest! Keep up the great work. Maybe we'll see you around sometime! Take care. |

Hi Cathy, |

I just wanted to let y'all know how much I appreciate your patience with me and how it all paid off. After completing the course on Sunday, I got my license on Mon. while everything was still fresh. Tues. afternoon, my husband says lets go out to the school and you can practice on my bike in the parking lot. After we get there and I'm getting on and starting up, the panic is in full force. I hear Jim in my ear - you can do this even though this is your husband's pride and joy and about 1000cc bigger bike than the one this weekend. So I start out slow, everything is going great then I turn to go left around the circle and it is all grass. Shit! they didn't show me grass! But it went fine too. After two times, he waves me over and says go ahead down the street, turn left and go to the Galvan's road, you look good. This just happens to be 337 before you start up the first hill, little curvy but not bad. |

I really did enjoy the class this past weekend. I did learn quite a lot on things I really never think about but have done by not knowing it. I find myself driving or riding in a car using the Search, evaluate, and execute technique around corners and it also has made me more aware to what's in front of me way ahead. I also have thought about my distance between the next car and myself, leaving me more distance to react. I think you chose the perfect area for a course; the parking lot has no distractions from Fredericksburg RD, and offers a slight grade going up hill and down hill, for those who need to learn clutch control. Now all I need is to study the motorcycle handbook and go test. Also I need to purchase 2 helmets, before I really hit the major highways. When I get all this squared away, then I will drive by to visit on my Harley. I will be recommending the Motorcycle School to others, and tell them how great the instructors are. |

Cathy, Just wanted to thank you, Jim and Kim again. The course is great!!! I am really interested in becoming an instructor at your school. Will touch base with you again on that. |

My husband and I took your course in early January ’07. Upon completion and obtaining our license, we purchased a used Honda CM400 to “practice” on. I would follow John in our pickup while he rode and then he would reciprocate. In Feb ’07 we decided it would be much more fun if we both rode and so bought a Honda Shadow. We sold the CM400 in May and bought a twin for the Shadow. Our children, who are grown, have been concerned about us. Mom and Dad, both in their mid-50s, are now riding motorcycles!?! Since that time we’ve had wonderful trips together. Three of those were to the Leakey area and just last month we did a week-long trip out to west Texas and had a great time at Big Bend. We had timed it well – middle of the week riding after spring breakers had left. And the weather was great. Altogether, we’ve put over 12,000 on those new bikes. John and I have a great time riding together. Whether around our area on county roads, or on a trip, it’s been a blast. My boss saw how much fun we were having and decided to take the course with his son and now they are riders. His wife is interested as well and the safety course is her next step. We encourage anyone who shows interest to take the safety course. Which brings me to say THANKS for the course and especially your patience with me. The techniques learned have “saved our bacon” numerous times. Sincerely, |
