The Motorcycle School Courses Available
§31.4 Student Admission Requirements.
- 1) Basic motorcycle operator training courses are open to any person who is:
a. at least 15 years old on the day the course begins.
- 2) A person who is 15 years old but is less than 25 years old may not enroll into a basic motorcycle operator training course unless he or she has a Class C learner license (permit) or an unrestricted Class C, or higher, driver license.
- 3) A person 25 years old or older may not enroll into a basic motorcycle operator training course unless he or she has identification documentation to confirm his or her identity.
- 4) The advanced motorcycle operator training course is restricted to individuals with a current motorcycle (Class M) driver's license. Each student must provide his or her own motorcycle that meets the requirements of §31.7 of this title (relating to Motorcycle Requirements).
Basic Rider Course – $195 Register Now
This course is 15 hours of training. 5 hours of classroom and 10 hours riding. Satisfactorily completing this course will result in the student receiving a certificate, which will have both the Motorcycle Safety Foundation endorsement, and also the Texas Department of Public Safety MSB-8. The TXDPS MSB-8 will entitle the student to a waiver of the riding requirement for a TEXAS motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license. Students will be provided with a motorcycle or scooter to ride, a DOT approved helmet, gloves, and all course books. Sign up for the basic course if you haven't had much riding experience or if you've never ridden at all. In the basic course, we teach you how to operate a motorcycle, the best protective clothing to wear, how to avoid dangerous situations and, what's most important, how to get out of those dangerous situations you can't avoid. You learn to make your motorcycle perform like an extension of yourself. And by the end of The Basic Rider Course, we'll be challenging your skills at the two-year rider level.
- Prerequisites – Must be able to balance on two-wheels, ie must know how to ride a bicycle.
- Requirements – Students must wear over the ankle footwear of sturdy construction with non-skid soles, long pants, long sleeves, and eye protection.

ASMI's Bystander Assistance Program- Register Now
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration 1.2% of Roadway crashes involve motorcyclists but 9.5% of Roadway fatalities were motorcyclists! The purpose of ASMI's Bystander Assistance Programs are to reduce injuries and fatailties to motorcyclists through First Response Education. We also expect to reduce rescuer injury through proper training. Our programs, based upon the US DOT First Responder Curriculum, are focused on Trauma rather than First Aid (low level trauma) and CPR (Heart attack and choking). All classes include a Lead instructor who is EMT or higher in medical training. For the price of a piece of chrome you can receive this invaluable training in just one to two days. Basic Motorcycle Maintenance $150 Register Now
This course is 6 hours of training. Students will have hands on training with their own motorcycle. 103 point guided check of their tires, spokes, rims, bearings, seals, levers, pedals, hoses, battery, lenses, reflectors, wiring, lighting, fluids, frame, suspension, drive, fasteners and stands. Students will be guided through the process of changing oil and filter. All tools are provided.
- Prerequisites – Students bring their own motorcycle which must be properly licensed and insured. Students are also advised to bring their Motorcycle Maintenance Manual.
- Requirements - Students need to bring oil, and oil filter for their motorcycle.

Introduction to Motorcycling - $50 Register Now
This course is 3 hours of classroom with an introduction to the basics of motorcycling.
Differences between cars and motorcycles, operation and street strategies are presented with guided discussion. How to choose a motorcycle, and riding gear that is right for YOU.

The Seasoned Rider - $50 Register Now
This course is 2 ½ hours of classroom, with an emphasis on skills retrieval for those returning riders who rode when younger, and are now returning to the motorcycling community.
Topics addressed include street strategies for minimizing risk. Guided discussion of basic skills necessary for the safe and prudent operation of your motorcycle in today’s traffic conditions.
Sign up for this course if you are over 40 and haven’t ridden in quite a few years. If you’ve had a few close calls, and want to learn some ways to reduce your risk while out riding.

Guided Practice - $78/1 hour $148/2 hours $218/3 hours Register Now
This is Guided Practice with a Certified Rider Coach. Choose the skills you need to improve and our Rider Coaches will have you practicing and improving in a very short time. Choose from these options:
- Clutch Control – How to smoothly get rolling / Starting and Stopping with Precision / Shifting Smoothly –
- Selecting the proper gear for road speed / negotiating curves – cornering skills / stopping QUICKLY and safely –
- Straight line and in a curve / limited space maneuvers – u-turns / swerving and lane changes / negotiating obstacles and road hazards.

- Requirements – Must show proof of insurance and current registration and inspection if using own motorcycle. All students must wear protective gear while practicing - Helmet, Boots, long pants, long sleeves, gloves, and eye protection.
- Class size – Minimum 1 Maximum 4
Experienced Rider Course - $80 Register Now
This course is 5 hours of on cycle training with the student’s own motorcycle. This course meets the DOD requirement for all active duty, retired, reserve, or civilian personnel wishing to ride onto military property worldwide. MSF completion card issued on site.
- Prerequisites – Must have “M” endorsement and current drivers license. (any state)
- Requirements – Must show proof of insurance and current registration and inspection.
Student’s motorcycle must pass T-CLOCS inspection by Rider Coach. All students must wear protective gear while practicing - Helmet, Boots, long pants, long sleeves, gloves, and eye protection.
